Anniversay on Addicted

Anniversary!... Exactly two years ago on this date, this group consisted of 800 members, all of them invited by me. I have for years made my living as a carpenter. I love creating and do so with music, rock carving, flintknapping and of course gardening. I started Addicted as a place to share pictures of our gardens here in southern Ohio. The group name I thought of described me perfectly! I've loved digging in the dirt and growing things since I was a kid. Most of the content of the page until that time was made by me. I never imagined that Addicted To Gardening would become much more than that. Then, on March 3, 2021, something surprising happened! When I checked the page, there were five requests to join the group! That had never happened before! In the following days, there were a few requests every day and before long there were hundreds, then thousands, and it's still happening! This site has become a place where folks from all over the world can share their ideas, knowledge, beautiful plants and gardens, their stories and their lives with each other. Here we celebrate what unites us, not what divides us. The number one ideal here is kindness, all things are possible when we treat one another in this way, those that choose otherwise don't last long here! I feel very thankful to have started a place where we can all enjoy our mutual love and be a part of something that is so uplifting and positive in the world! It wasn't my plan to be such a part of something so special as this community has become, it kinda' chose me I guess. Yesterday, this group passed 1,300,000 members. Thank you everyone for joining us and for being such a great bunch of people! It's been a pleasure and an honor to hang out with all you garden fanatics! In the last seven days, 20,200 dirt diggers have joined us in this growing celebration! Thank you and Welcome to Addicted To Gardening! You all take care, keep it shinin' and....Garden On!
