How I got started with Daffodils

By now you all know I have a lot of Daffodils. Here is the story of how I got started. 18 years ago, Kaiajade took me to visit a friend of hers who had purchased a property that had once been a commercial Daffodil farm, years ago. There were Daffs growing everywhere! I, of course, asked about the possibility of getting some starts. She said to me, "If you'll promise me you will plant every one, you can have all you want" This was in early April, when they were in bloom. I made three trips there, filling my pickup truck each time. I never even made a dent in what was growing there! I kept my promise to her, separating and planting every bulb, probably 25-30 thousand of them. Over the years, these have multiplied and each year in March and April, I dig, separate, and plant thousands more. I have never had a problem moving them while they're growing. This year so far, I have planted over 1300 more. Yeah, I love Daffodils! Southern Ohio.
