Hello everyone! My name is Donnie Tincher. I grew up on a small family farm in Adams County, Ohio, which is in the south-central part of the state. It was here that I learned to love the land and everything that grows upon it. My mother loved vegetable gardening and preserving what we grew. My dad was a farm pick-up milk hauler. I ran this business for several years when he retired. From there, I went on to become a self-employed, master carpenter, which I still do presently. I love creating, and it shows up in many places. I’m into photography, art, stone carving, flintknapping, and of course, gardening. I am a singer-songwriter and musician. I am the founder of the Facebook group, Addicted To Gardening.
About Addicted to Gardening
I have always been an avid gardener and photographer. I started the group on Facebook as a place to post pictures of our gardens here in southern Ohio without photo-bombing my timeline. The name I thought of fit me perfectly and so Addicted To Gardening was created. By March of 2021 the group had 800 members, which I thought was a pretty sizable group! Then something magical began to happen! One day, there were 5 new member requests, then several every day. Soon there were hundreds, then thousands! As of early 2023 Addicted To Gardening contains over one and a quarter million members! We are a global community of garden lovers and dirt diggers like no other. We’re here to celebrate every aspect of gardening, from houseplants to food growing, from flowers to fun garden projects. We’re here for beginners to master gardeners, to inspire and share with each other our knowledge, our gardens and our lives, in a kind and respectful environment. Our goal is to spread the love of gardening to as many as possible and inspire new generations of garden lovers!
